Create Position Site in MapInfo

MapInfo is a specialist software package which is used to analyze large amount of data and to find and show spatial relationships in data. MapInfo allows the integration and analysis of disparate graphic and tabular data sets. This is mainly used to allow for geographic based data analysis. A simple example would be to use MapInfo to generate a map showing the area covered by a specific post code, or the data from one map could be used to enhance an existing map. In the field of telecommunications, georeferenced information processing programs are almost mandatory.

MapInfo is one of those programs. It is carried out in telecommunication such as network planning, optimization.

How to create Point of Site Name?

Firstly, we must create excel file or text file create point file but this case I use text file to create plot point in MapInfo

For text file we need to save Excel File as Type Text (Tab delimited)(*.txt).
After we created file ready. We start to import excel file or text file in to MapInfo. Herewith procedure to import file.

• File menu choose Open and select file Name (Example Create Point.txt) and Tick Create copy in MapInfo format for read/write
• Click Open
• Select Tab in Delimiter and Select Use First Line for Column Titles then click OK
• Table menu choose Create Points.. (Get X Coordinates from Column: choose Longitude and Get Y Coordinates from Column: choose Latitude) click OK
• Window Menu choose New Map Window
