Example: 92² =?

Step1: subtract the number from 100: 100-92 = 8
Step2: subtract the number (from Step1) from original number: 92-8 = 84
Step3: square the result from Step1 ( in case the result is a single digit put a 0 in front it):  8² = 64
Step4 : combine Step2 and Step3 (Step1Step2) we get result 8464

The result:  92² = 8464
